Leighton Buzzard General Market
The market is a mixture of erected stalls and pitches which gives a nice "atmosphere" to the High Street. This page explains what is available to new traders and what requirements are needed before trading can commence.
The number of stalls available on both days is approximately 105.Stall sizes (erected) are approx. 8ft X 4ft.and are made of heavy duty galvanised steel. Some top boards are available on request and pitch sizes are sold by the foot (see Wendy Fairs' website for details on pricing). Vans are allowed on the market for loading and unloading purposes only. Mobile retail vehicles are allowed with the consent of the market manager. There is no service charge and any rubbish is removed by Wendy Fair staff throughout the day. Black bin liners are provided and are to be used at all times. Stalls should be ready for business by 09:00am with vans re-entering the market at approximately 3:30pm.As with all other problems that might arise such as bad weather etc. the market manager has the final say and those that know him will tell you that he and his team are very fair and helpful.
Before trading can commence, a valid Public Liability Insurance Certificate must be shown. This can be obtained from Wendy Fair or from NMTF and represents good value for money as it covers you for any trading situation.
Casuals are welcome and are advised to pre-book a stall if possible. Pichers and Demmers are allowed at the discretion of the market manager.
